Most misguided Nigerians despise Ndigbo because of their values, as it seem to contradict/negate their own worldview.
When you hear "Nigeria would be better off without the Igbos", it is a statement of fact because it is easier to run a society with a unique worldview.

Igbo started denying being Igbo.
More Igbos became detribalized.
The Igbo language became something to be ashamed of.
Economic infrastructure were exhumed from the Igbo region.
The gap between the Rich & poor keeps getting wider.
Igbo leaders became puppets.
