ppl need to stop assuming that just because someone isnt tweeting abt current events that it means they don't care. twitter isnt the extent of activism; many ppl prefer to protest and spread the word offline and have their social media be separate from it for their mental health.
this isn't abt "privileged white ppl" but abt many poc + black teens who are fucking traumatized and contemplating suicide bcs they see violence everywhere they look. they deserve a space they can relax and find happiness in without feeling like a "traitor".
maybe i'm saying this in an odd way, but i had a friend who had been spreading awareness and donation links all day and the SECOND they rted fandom content or tweeted something more light-hearted, they got qrted with "stop pretending you care abt black lives" and they ARE black.
