I understand rioting, it works. To an extent. What I don't understand is looting. People use situations like this to steal from businesses big and small. A small salon my grandma frequents outside of lockdown was looted. Everything was taken. The owner was left with nothing. -
- I can't imagine what it's like to be in his shoes right now. And no, I'm not blaming the looting on black people as that would be ridiculous. Some people get carried away and it's dangerous to be around the events. --
- there's news saying that the riots are spreading to cities outside of Minneapolis. I have friends whose neighborhoods are close to the riots and the looting and some protesters just take without thought. -
- Again, I can understand rioting. This is an outrage and we need to be heard. But it concerns me when some people think stealing from businesses (especially smaller ones) is okay. And it doesn't surprise me when white people are shown doing it. -
- obviously I'm not black. If this thread is bothersome or you feel I should take it down, let me know. I'm just currently concerned with the safety of my friends and family who live near the epicenter of the riots.
