Hello, this is my thread for self-studying Korean.
‼️ I am not fluent, and I am still a beginner
‼️ I've only studied this for a month but I'm able to read short stories now
‼️ I only wanna share my resources and some tips
‼️ Feel free to add more.
‼️ Please QRT only
First things first, my learning style is very dependent on reading. I'm aware that we all have diff learning styles and so far, this is what works for me. 2nd, I am anal at note taking and I love cross-referencing so that's why I have lots of notebooks/materials to check
I have 5 notebooks in learning Korean , 3 for grammar (because they're from different grammar references) 1 for stories, 1 for practice. I also have different flashcards coz I just love writing words.
Now on to the references, first up Websites I find useful and the note taking tips I have for each.
(1) http://Howtostudykorean.com
Website (2) is the paid version of http://TalktomeinKorean.com
Disclaimer: I don't know how different it is in the free version so feel free to QRT with the differences
On to the books I use! Korean Grammar In Use (Basic) - available in libgen/lc as a PDF
Basic Korean Grammar by Andrew Byon - hands down my bible for learning right now
And then let's go to the apps! I don't use apps like duolingo/busuu/etc coz I don't want to MEMORIZE phrases, I want to be able to construct what I want to say, not just blindly follow sample dialogue. So most of these apps are vocab apps only
CONJUGATION APPS! we need this because conjugation rules in kr are a lot based on your intention, tense, honorific level, and the context so these are handy conjugation apps for your reference
So, you can learn words faster if you can read them in context. Since I am only a beginner, I only read children's stories for now because they are straightforward and don't use a lot of proverbs. Here are books you can use to test your reading skills and some tips!
For listening: I depend on @pledis_17 content, I watch their gose unsubbed and try to match the words with the korean subs. I usually catch the8/shua/dk/dino's words better because they speak slower and clearer.
For speaking : bitch i record myself, and sometimes , i think i sound like a baby while speaking korean coz the amount of stuttering i have to go through. jesus christ.
For writing : i tweet in kr sometimes, but I also have lots of practice sentences and basically just write down my feelings for a day.

I never said I was prolific at it, i'm still starting.
And that's the end of this thread. Hopefully you find these references useful too.
also i uploaded the wrong notetaking tip for translating stories so here ya go.
