i’ve been wondering this for a while but everyone was really quick to cancel the mulan film when liu yifei expressed her support for chinese police, and same for bright’s gf right? but then why hasn’t anyone cancelled jackson wang for the same thing? am i missing something?

or is it just that they’re girls maybe? i hope not ha

yellie is an ahgase and we talk about this a lot it just feels like there’s such a vindictive double standard if you’re going to cancel a chinese actress for supporting her own propaganda-ful country then wouldn’t it make sense to therefore cancel a far more globalized man too?

to my mind, i feel like we can’t exactly blame them since, as chinese nationals, maybe they’re pressured to support china as the populous controls so much of their careers and there’s surely a lot of propaganda going on too i’m just pointing out the glaring double standard

it’s such a weird thing i had to reflect on because liu yifei was antagonized so harshly in my head and then when i found out abt jackson even my own brain wasn’t as quick to judge i had to sit and rly think about it

so recognize your cognitive biases please guys if you’re able to forgive based on the fact they’re chinese nationals as well as artists then make sure you cover everyone and not just the attractive males thanks

and if there’s a part of your heart eager to have some compassion for jackson since he’s otherwise shown his capacity to be a good and loving person maybe just think on this the next time you wanna judge quick and cancel someone oop
