ACTUAL PRACTICING DOCTOR HERE: I’ve seen a thread that details how to treat a bullet wound but there is some inaccurate info in it that can cause MORE HARM THAN GOOD! ILL MENTION THEM BELOW:
BEFORE STARTING YOUR FIRST AID CALL 911 - DO NOT DELAY CALLING FOR HELP UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES
THE FOLLOWING TIPS ARE FOR CONSCIOUS VICTIMS - ones who are alert, awake, breathing.. if the person does not have a pulse start CPR.
The basis of treating a gunshot wound is to STOP THE BLEEDING!

1) If the wound is in the ABDOMEN - apply direct pressure with a cloth to minimize the bleeding. KEEP PRESSURE UNTIL HELP COMES.
2) If the wound in the extremities (LEGS OR ARMS) - wrap a scarf VERY STRONGLY proximal to the wound site to minimize bleeding, applying local pressure also helps. KEEP THE PRESSURE UNTIL HELP COMES.
DO NOT PUT YOUR FINGERS INSIDE THE WOUND UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES YOU ARE NOT A TRAINED PROFESSIONAL AND MIGHT DO MORE HARM THAN GOOD
IF you are not in a safe environment you have to move the victim.

OTHERWISE REDUCE MOVEMENT AT ALL COSTS!!
LOOK FOR EXIT POINTS OF THE BULLET - if there are present you should try control the bleeding in those wounds as well or prioritize the one that is bleeding actively!
TO SUMMARIZE:
1) CALL FOR HELP
2) Go to a safe environment
3) Check pulse (if the patient was unconscious and there is no pulse initiate CPR)
4) Control bleeding until help comes.

THANK YOU AND PLEASE STOP THE SPREAD OF MEDICAL MISINFORMATION :)
