People are rightfully angry about what happened to #GeorgeFloyd. They're rightfully afraid. And their (often toxic) responses reflect that. Be there for them. Support them as they come to grips with what they're feeling.

You set the tone.
Different people will deal with the #GeorgeFloyd incident in different ways. Some will laser focus on the racism against POC community in America, whilst others will give it a place with all of the other injustices in the world. And that's A-OK. 1/2
Fighting each other, when all you want to do is make the world a better place for everyone, will only result in making things worse. Significantly worse. Work together. Move forward. Be the change you want to enact.

You. Set. The. Tone. 2/2
"Never be cruel, never be cowardly. And if you ever are, always make amends... Remember – hate is always foolish. And love, is always wise... Always try, to be nice and never fail to be kind... Laugh hard. Run fast. Be kind." - The 12th Doctor
Change will not come easy. And it will not come any time soon. But it can, and will happen. If you just take it one small step at a time. Eventually, all of those small steps will amount to one big leap forwards. Just remember that every toxic step will have toxic results.

You can't control chaos. Bad apples can (and already have in the #MinneapolisProtests 's case) sabotage the message you were trying to send. Or get people hurt. Just give the right people the voice, and the support, they need to change things for the better.

You set the tone.
