I was putting my niece to bed tonight. She’s two years old and the light of my life. She has no way of understanding and comprehending what is going on right now. BUT I started thinking. There absolutely needs to be a change that happens +

+ it breaks my heart to know that her and so so so many other children may have to grow up in this messed up world where men, women, and children are killed because of their race. She’s going to have to learn about this in her history class +

+ and I already know, if change happens, she’ll be asking me “auntie nan, this really happened?” And I’ll have to tell her the truth and see the sadness in her eyes. What happened to George Floyd sickens me. +

+ What happened to George Floyd makes me disappointed to be racially associated with white people. Why couldn’t we all just learn from the past?
