i’m gonna go on a bit of a rant because there is too much in my head and i just wanna let it out
there are so many issues that need to be dealt with in “america”/the western world. this “society” was created by colonizers who murdered people day after day until they got land to settle on. that idealogy of superiority runs within those whose ancestors were colonizers..
.. to this day. but unfortunately it’s not just a white people thing. that stigma of black people being somehow a threat has transcended to many cultures and countries. (i’m speaking from my personal experience) ppl in egypt are so so racist. even though a lot face discrimination
.. they still have been made to believe that nubians, west and east africans (non-white africans basically) are “lower” in some way. i’ve seen so much racism from latinx, arabs, europeans (duh), south asains, etc. against black people and it blows my mind. life is already..
.. difficult enough without having the entire world discrimate against you. riots might work in the short term, but as long as the entire system is set to believe that more melanin = higher threat, then every few months were gonna see another vid of a black person getting...
.. murdered by a police officer, a riot ensuing, bare minimum justice (if even that) being served, and then things going back to “normal” (=segregation and discrimination continue). a country that is made up of white settlers will NEVER actively fight for the justice of its...
non-white (and especially black) citzens because that means that they’re fighting against their ideals, beliefs, centuries of supremacy, the entire country they built by bringing other ppl down. white ppl have one thing going for them and that is stealing from other races...
.. whether that’s lives, culture, ideas, creations, beauty/looks, work, etc etc. this battle isn’t a white vs black battle. this is a black vs the rest of the brainwashed world. to this day i have family members, friends, peers who are balantly racist and the world we live in...
.. ALLOWS them to be. idk if it’s because they’re afriad that once other people get equal chances at life (including just fucking living) then they will suddenly have to actually work as much as others for chances/opportunities. just look at fucking hollywood; it is literally..
.. always enforcing the idea that poc = bad. but i don’t even want to talk about white vs poc right now. i just want to discuss how unjust life is for black people. it has come to a point where people don’t react anymore. celebraties put more fucking effort into singing a..
.. a stupid ass song than they did trying to use their power for justice. literally one call from a celebrity to the DA’s office could help bring justice to george floyd or regis korchiniski-paquet, but nothing. man, black ppl have to learn to fucking fight for their lives..
... when they’re just fucking kids. they have to know what to do when they’re stabbed, shot, tear-gassed because that’s their fucking reality whenever they try to so much as speak for their fucking rights. yt ppl love to claim that about black ppl are lazy or don’t work hard..
.. enough, even though segregation hasn’t even been over a hundred years yet. meanwhile, yts have had everything handed to them from the second they arrived on this stolen land. how can you compare yourself to someone who barely has any of the experience, opportunities, ...
.. exposure that you had? i stg there are ppl who just posted a photo of george floyd on their story (if even that) then went back to ignoring everything wrong with the world rn. realise your privelage please! the fact that you can just go back to “normal” is a fucking privelage!
.. the fact that you can continue posting photos of you and your friends hanging out, or ur day by the lake, or your vlogs/videos that are coming out while black ppl have to fight for their right to fucking live, is a privelage. light poc ignore the fact that their light-skin...
.. enables them to do so much more than dark-skinned poc. oh wow you look like a yt person with ur green eyes and blonde hair but feel that u are still oppressed because ur dad is algerian? like really? i’m seeing so many ppl (whether subconsciously or purposfully) post...
.. their struggles, problems, issues, etc. right now because for some reason they feel threatened by black people fighting and have a voice. and hey! i’m not completely inoccent either; i grew up surrounded by ppl who freely talked about how being dark-skinned is a burden..
.. almost as if it’s a disability to have dark skin. instead of growing up with the idea that black = bad, i grew up with black = sad. and that’s equally wrong. i’m lucky that i had the internet while i was growing up (to an extent) because i was able to meet and learn from ppl..
... who looked different than me, and i was able to ask questions and get educated and change the mindest that was instilled in me as a child. canada might be known as a “nice and kind” nation but that doesn’t change the fact that racism is still very much so prevalent & brutal..
.. and that police & other federal workers still actively discriminate against poc every day. racism is here. it’s active and present in everyone’s life and you’re either racist or recieve racism. if you don’t know which one you are then chances are you’re the former. i know...
... ppl who have sworn to me that they are not racist and yet claim that it’s harder for them to find a job now bec they’re yt and employers hire poc more than yt ppl because of “societal pressure”. they genuinely see poc getting fair opportunities as a form of oppression. ik...
.. non-black ppl who rt tweets abt the blm movement and justice for george floyd and yet they say the n-word (with a hard r) as if it’s completely normal. ppl who don’t think culture appropriation is a thing. ppl who always respong to blm tweets with tweets abt the struggles of..
... other oppressed poc. a post for regis korchiniski-paquet is not the place for you to talk about palestinian ppl. a petition for the blm movement is not the place for you to talk about ur dumbass “all lives matter” bullshit. a gofundme for george floyd is not the place for...
... you to argue about how yt ppl also get pulled over/arrested and killed by police. how many yt ppl get killed for running in the street? how many yt ppl get killed for a bad cheque? how many yt ppl get thrown off their own balconies? learn to fucking shut the fuck up and let..
.. black ppl fucking have a chance to fight for their livelihood. better yet, support them instead of being silent. your “neutrality” is not fucking neutral. it’s anti-black. saying “i’m not a racist but...” is a racist fucking statement. don’t you dare pull a “let me play the..
.. devil’s advocate here...” when ppl are literally mourning for the lose of an innocent fucking human. on another note, instead of sharing the video of george floyd’s murder, share vids of him talking or photos of him smiling, remember him as a fucking human, not a tragedy..
... that came today and will go tomorrow. idek what to say anymore. there is so much shit to discuss. bullshit systems to change. oppression to get rid of. idk what the point of this thread is, or if there even is a point, but i just had to let this off my chest bec these last..
... few days have been difficult and overwhelming. i’m sorry if i overstepped in anyway, please lmk if i offended you or said something rude, etc. and i’ll take down my tweet right away. in the mean time, i’m going to link down a couple of threads on mental health, how you can..
... help the black community, george’s family, regis’s family, the blm movement. please please please don’t just be fake woke. actually support and stand up for the ppl around you, who need your help now more than ever. speak up. #BlackLivesMater
