I remember learning about racism/slavery/segregation in school & being enraged. I remember white teachers telling those who spoke out about how wrong that was that “it was a different time” “you wouldn’t have known then that what you were doing was wrong” “that’s just how it was”
Now, being an adult with my own thoughts and opinions, I can see that those teachers trying to subdue our rage are part of the problem. I also know that this rage I feel now proves those teachers wrong.
We knew as young children that this shit was wrong and they tried to snuff that spark out of us, to make us quiet sheep who just blindly agreed. Now the same people who sat quietly then, or loudly told us we were wrong, are showing their asses.
Idk what the point of this thread is but it’s just something I noticed
