Until we truly focus on & #39;Justice for all& #39; instead of whatever it is we& #39;re doing now....
Any peace is going to be fragile and nearly an illusion

LOTS of stuff happens in suburbia that most of the residents have no idea it could lead to their death if it was done by a minority in an area with higher police presence.
It seems like we have leaders now who look at what will cause the most heartbreak, the most needless stupidity and they go.. "Oh yeah! let& #39;s do that!"
Things are about to get much more crazy.
Be safe, wear a mask to protect yourself from Covid-19.

Most people just want to get by.
Want to not have to nearly kill themselves every day to provide for themselves and family.
Or risk dying so you can have your cheeseburgers & fries delivered to your door.

Being *ABLE* to socially distance, limit trips and work from home right now is a HUGE privilege that I& #39;m very thankful for but I know is not common.
So the heart of what I& #39;m trying to drive all this too..
Is that our reality is largely a shared Hallucination.

Money, gold.. bitcoin etc.
LITERALLY ONLY HAS VALUE BECAUSE WE ALL AGREE IT HAS VALUE!!!!

It& #39;s extremely difficult to live off the barter system now, especially since most of us don& #39;t produce stuff ourselves.
We are all mostly cogs in bigger machines.
We are all mostly cogs in bigger machines.
AS cogs we don& #39;t really have a tremendous amount of agency or real power.
That& #39;s because we mostly play along with America& #39;s shared delusion that.. & #39;If you work hard enough, don& #39;t make any mistakes.. YOU CAN MAKE IT HERE!& #39;
That has largely ceased to be the case for most.

In my lifetime it& #39;s gone from eh, no big deal if you lose a job to... ZOMG world might end.. if you lose a job for the wrong reason.
Life has gotten much more unforgiving,
Tension for everyone& #39;s jobs has ratcheted up..
"Life goals" for many people is just to make the hurt stop

We have sort of ended up in a weird place as a country where you have the *haves* and the *have nots* with almost zero in-between.
That& #39;s dangerous for our future because...

People worried about where the next meal for their family is going to come from have a VERY different set of priorities than people worried about their 401k and making their payment on their getaway cabin.
Parents trying to just put food in their kids mouths and provide a place that isn& #39;t a relative& #39;s couch/garage will do what they have to do to make sure their family eats at least something.
Thing is..
We have *enough* food in US to feed everyone.
Up until the pandemic we wasted 1/2 the food purchased with *more* never harvested because of economics.

Other countries have it set up so that instead of *throwing food away* like we do here at grocery stores in compression dumpsters.. they sell or give away the about to expire food for pennies on the dollar.
We also have a tendency as a country to & #39;blame the victim& #39; and totally ignore the concept of externalities.
Externalities in the context I& #39;m discussing them are things completely outside of your control.

Someone sideswipes you or rear-ends your car..
They don& #39;t have insurance but you end up with huge medical bills & aches and pains you& #39;ll have the rest of your life?
externality.
Same with accidents like slipping and falling or getting the big C.

This tendency allows us to think of someone who got laid off as.. & #39;hmm something MUST have been wrong with their performance or the company would have kept them& #39;

Same mentality encourages us to think of titans of business and successful entrepreneurs as & #39;self made& #39; in that ALL their success is due to themselves alone and their own actions.
Personal actions and willingness to work hard & smart CERTAINLY helped make successful people successful.
But... most couldn& #39;t have made it as big as they did without good people working hard for them.
Business philosophies differ wildly and I don& #39;t want to start a..

Wealth and access to capital plays a huge part in being able to make it in business.

Growing up poor impacts stress, health tremendously and mindset about what is possible in the world.
Example: Knowing how to politely push back at doctor& #39;s office when you believe they made a mistake,
Knowing how to ask for more money when you get a job offer and negotiate

Right now people mostly grow up self-limiting themselves because they lack imagination and living exemplars in how to get ahead.
And honestly.. so many just want the credit card /fast food rich version of success. Having expensive things.. doesn& #39;t make you a success

Money past a certain point is more about keeping track of the score rather than & #39;Ha ha! made it now!& #39;
It& #39;s not what you are able to *purchase* it& #39;s what you can hold onto and keep even through tough times...
If you have no slack, no reserve of anything.. no angle on saving money... second you have an income hiccup you are toast.

Living the high life in a mansion...
means you have people coming and going in your house that aren& #39;t your family or friends.
Means a loss of privacy and space.
Inside the medicine cabinets of lots of fancy, swanky houses... is a *ton* of stress related medications

They may drive better cars, live in fancier houses..
And shop in nicer places..
But it doesn& #39;t make them *better* people than you.

For that matter poverty is not *virtuous* and something to strive for.
But the concept of *enough* is hugely powerful.
