THREAD ON RISHABH PANT came in reckoning after his exploits for india U-19 wc'16. A dashing left handed wkt keeper batsman who lit up tournament with blitzing 24 ball 75, the fastest 50 of the tournament against Nepal and followed up with
against Namibia.
After that knocks, he was drafted in delhi Daredevils squad. Made T20I debue for india against England in 2017 where he scored 5* and then he got chance in July 2017 where he scored 38. Between this two inning he played ipl where scored 366 runs including knock of 97(43) vs GL
Then he got chance in Nidihas trophy where he scored 23 and 1 where rohit also scored 0 & 17 in same matches.but Pant got replaced with rahul in 3rd game and didn't get chance again in that tournament. Ipl comes again and he scored 684 in 14 matches. SR - 173, 6s - 37 with 128*.
After that heroic ipl, he could have been played T20is for india surely but they didn't pick him not even in Ireland,and not against England too. Raina and dk was part of both the tour.
Finally he made test debue in Nottingham 2018. He opened account with 6 in test.He failed to impress in first two test of his career but in ovel where india chasing 464 in 4th inning , scored his first test hundred and became first & only keeper who scored overseas
He was not a part of 2018 Asia Cup, he played against Windies in test series where he scored 184 runs having two 90+ scores in both the inning he played. Then he made odi debue against Windies. In 2 matches he scored 17 & 24 and then got replaced by MSD in further game of series.
He played 3 T20is too against windies. where he failed in 2 matches and in 3rd game he scored match winning 58 in runchase of 182. Then Big Aussie tour came. He played 2 T20is there and scored 15 and 0 in respective matches.
A historical test series came,
1st test - 25 & 38
2nd test - 36 with tail & 30 (H.S)
3rd test - 39 & 33 (second HS)
4th test - 159* his second overseas test hundred.He scored brilliant 159 in that sydney test where he showed temperament.

After having decent Test series, he wasn't part of ODIs again. Wc was just few months away and Rishbh pant wasn't part of Odi sqaud. India played 3 ODIs in Aus , and Karthik played at 6 in that ODIs series.
Then india travelled NZ for limited overs series. Rishabh pant wasn't part of this odi series as well. Dk was there again at 6 along with raydu and Vijay shankar. Shubhman gill got game as well but pant got ignored again.
Rishbh pant got game in T20 series. India bowled out on 139 in first game. Pant scored 1 , he comeback strongly in second T20. While chasing 168 he scored 40(28) with SR of 142, and in last game he scored 28(12) with SR of 233

Rishbh pant played 2 T20s against Aus at home where he failed in both the game and Aus won that T20 series by 2-0. Big surprise was there, in ODIs. Dk who played back to back odi series wasn't part of that series. Pant played and scored 36 & 16.
IPL 2019 came. Everyone was hopefull for selection in WC squad so did rishbh pant.
He failed in initial games of the IPL , but performed in later ones. He scored 488 runs with strike rate of 164. Pant didn't get place in first fifteen members of Indian squad for WC19.

A disappoint younger who hadn't that much bad performance..! He wasn't get that much odi games to prove him self before that wc. Shikhar Dhawan injured during wc and Rishbh pant got chance. 21 year old guy was playing his first game at that big occasion of world cup.
It was a game of the worldcup, top 2 contender of that big wc india and england was playing against eacher. While chasing 338. pant and pandya made good partnership in that game, untill wkt of rishbh pant its look like achievable. He made 32(29).
Next game was against Bangladesh. India batted first in that game, pant came in at no.4 when 18 overs were remaining. He scored brilliant 48 and was 3rd highest run getter in that game. A good cameo from rishbh pant was helped india to win a game 28 runs.
Next game was against Sri Lanka where india was chasing 265. Rohit and rahul both hundred , rishbh came at 4 again and scored run a ball 4 runs and got out when india needed just 12 more runs. Though his performance didn't affect much and india won that game by 7 runs.
It was semi final. India was playing against Nz , while chasing 240 on next day of the game india were 5/2. Pant came at four again in chase he confidently played that boult-henry spell and in front of him, india lost another two wkts as henry picked up dk and rahul.
He made very good partnership with hardik pandya and both looking in good touch. But pressure of runchase was there, and he got out while hitting ball over mid wkt. A very sensible knock of 32(56) was runied by that one bad shot. India lost that game by 18 runs.
India's first series after that wc was in Windies. Rishbh pant was failed in first 2 T20 games but scored match winning 65 in last T20. He was 3rd highest run scorer though, with 69 runs in 3 game. In odi series he scored 20 and duck in two games.
India host SA for T20 and test series after Windies tour. Pant failed again in T20s and in test he got replaced by Saha. Team management's thinking behind this change was "saha is good in Asia". When rishbh played last test series in india he scored 92 in both inning.
Bangladesh came to play T20is and test series in india. Pant scored 27 in first game which was second highest score in that low scoring game against Bangladesh. And in second game he got out on 6. And again he didn't get chance in test. Saha scored 12 & 17 in both matches.
Then next series was against windies. In first T20, in big run chase india required 79 in 39 balls. Pant played decent cameo of 18 runs with SR of 200 and made 58 runs partnership with skipper virat kohli. In second game he scored 33* with SR of 150 and in last game he failed.
In odi series, india were 25/2 and 80/3 after 18.2 overs. Pant made decent partnership with ayyer and scored 71(69). In 2nd odi, it was almost contrast condition than first odi. India were 292/3 in 43.3 overs. He played decent cameo and scored 39 with SR of 243. In 3rd odi got 6.
Then SL came to play 3 T20s with india where pant got just 1 ball to play including that first washed out game. He got 1* in second T20 and got replaced by sanju in 3rd T20 where sanju scored 6. Then Australia came to play 3 ODIs where he made 28 and got injured on bouncer.
He didn't play further 2 odis against Aus due to injury. Then Big NZ series came where india had to play 5 T20s , 3 ODIs and 2 test matches. While looking at last series(wi) performance, pant should play all games. But rahul played as wkt keeper in whole 5 T20s
India went with 16 members squad for 5 T20 matches against Nz. All 15 players played at least one game in that 5 match series but only rishbh pant was the guy who didn't get single game in that series.Dubey sanju shardul all guys played at least one game in that series
Kedar Jadhav, who wasn't played in last series got chance at 6 in odi series over rishbh pant. Yes same Jadhav whom our management dropped in that big semi final. Don't know why he was playing in that series, May be our management grooming young batsman in the form of him 
After seating out in whole 5 match T20 series, Rishabh pant didn't get single game in that irrelevant (according to our skipper) series. Suddenly he got replaced by our no.1 test wkt keeper (according our management) in test series.He scored 60 runs in 2 test matches
Rishabh pant, from an emerging youngster in 2018 to waterboy of indian team in Feb 2020. After that Wc, Ravi Shastri said that rishbh pant is our first choice wkt keeepr in all 3 fortmats. Our cheif selector also said same thing for rishbh pant while selecting him on wi series'19
What do you think guys! Who is is responsible for this situation. pant had that much worst career in this two year or our team management didn't support him much.
