Ding dong, COAG is dead.

The PM has announced the National Cabinet structure will continue on a monthly basis after the pandemic, and fortnightly during the pandemic, instead.
Honestly, the word "COAG" is completely meaningless for people who don't follow politics. I have to explain it in every one of my stories. That's not a reflection on the utility of it - just that there's a lot of assumed knowledge over the COAG process.
National Council will meet in person twice a year, the PM says. So the meetings themselves will be more regular, but only twice a year face to face.

"It's a much more flexible way of working," PM @ScottMorrisonMP says.
The PM says he's happy to consider a travel bubble between NZ and different states and territories, depending on when the jurisdictions open their borders.
National Cabinet CAN NOT be FOI-ed, as its documents will be subject to cabinet rules.

"It's not a spectator sport. It's a serious policy deliberation which needs to be done between govts and by cabinet members," PM @ScottMorrisonMP says.
