White liberals almost universally want to say "violence is not the answer," when violence is THE go-to tactic by the ruling class. They are tear-gassing protesters in Louisville right now. That's violence. Killing Black people in their homes is violence.

Reserved, measured, docile protest doesn't work against those kinds of tactics, and never has. Why would it? Why would anyone care about your peaceful sit-in? How do you expect to change anything without making someone in charge *very* uncomfortable?

Put it this way: the only reason we have a weekend and an 8-hour work day is because lots of people died for those things. The only reason there isnt slavery is because lots of people died. The only reason we don't drink at separate water fountains is because lots of people died.
