Something that I think about way too frequently is the day a KC cop reached for his gun on me. I’ll never shake that feeling, and I will likely never have a positive interaction with a cop again.
Which is why it’s so heartbreaking that there are so many POC that have to deal with this fear solely because they’re targeted or profiled solely because of the color of their skin.
I feel like it’s a matter of time before KC is dealing with their own situation here of an over-eager cop that kills an innocent person and we’ll be dealing with a situation incredibly similar to Minneapolis sooner rather than later.
I’ll probably delete this thread because it’s super vulnerable and I absolutely hate talking about that experience, but if a cop was so ready to pull a gun on someone having a panic attack, we have an issue in our city and they’re absolutely going to kill an innocent
Basically listen to people, especially POC, when they say they feel threatened by the police establishment. It’s not a good thing, and nobody should be made to feel this way.
