During this pandemic, when almost everything has slowed down or stopped, it is evident that racism in America has not. Over the last few months, we have witnessed violent acts of white supremacy, police brutality and targeted harassment because we were simply living while Black.

. @TheBlackCaucus is calling for arrests and charges against the murders of Breonna Taylor and George Floyd and a full investigation into the lynching of Ahmaud Arbery. Impunity can no longer be tolerated. Enough is enough.

It is unfortunate that the intervention of the national guard has been called upon instead of the immediate arrest of the officers that killed George Floyd. This should have been the first step to deescalating the situation.

@TheBlackCaucus is pushing for a comprehensive legislative response in the House Judiciary Committee that will protect our community from these repeated attacks. Any individuals who choose to violate these laws must be held accountable and punished to the maximum level.
