I'm feeling angry tonight, and I need to vent.
The unjust killings that are talked about most often find us here. But you don’t have to look that hard to find the ones that don’t. Racism and inequality are rampant in America. If you can’t see it, it’s because you don’t want to. And it’s not just in the videos...
...it’s in the numbers. Nearly 23% of reported COVID-19 deaths in the U.S. are African American, even though African Americans make up roughly 13% of the U.S. population. Inequality is in the poverty numbers. The food desert numbers. All the numbers.
We need radically new plans to address systemic inequality in this country. We need a new story. I'm over the storylines about the frustrations of the privileged. I want the stories of how new generations of leaders are emerging with real plans and agendas.
If you're in a position of power, ask yourself if/how you're showing solidarity with your fellow humans...what you're doing to accelerate the changes our flawed system so desperately needs...how you're changing whatever institution you have proximity to...
...who you know that can help you expand your worldview to understand how others live, or how to meet people who will.

I know. Meeting new people isn't "easy". But how is it that we are more connected than ever, yet it feels like we are the furthest apart?
Enough with the petulant theatrics about social media censorship and victimhood. You know who feels victimized by censorship in America in 2020? Hateful people whose fringe theories deserve to be marginalized.
It takes a real special kind of privilege to complain about getting your Twitter account suspended, or about wearing a mask, or about an NFL player taking a knee, when we're being bombarded with images of somebody getting needlessly killed by one because they are black.
America should be the world's best example of fairness and equality. Our communities should be built upon trust. Without it, doubt sows chaos. If millions of us are born into a disadvantage that gets worse as we age, then the American dream is just another bedtime story. Wake up.
More transparency, means more data, which means more facts. That's why there's an anti-fact & anti-trust movement right now. So I'm still going to be a lot less quiet about it in the things I say and do. I hope you choose similarly. At the very least.
