There's a campaign to remove the prohibition on men who have had sex with other men from giving blood for three months.

Some gay men are already lying and ignoring the rules 👇

Homophobia, they say.

BBC News - The gay men breaking blood donation rules https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-48598461
It is a campaign with currency.

What are you going to do about blood donation then? Ryan Doo-dah What's His Name from Pink News challenged the LGB Alliance.

Because that was his gotcha test to prove the Alliance disnt support gay rights and was driven by undiluted transphobia.
I hope the Alliance does sweet FA about gay men's rights to donate blood within three months of sexual contact.

I donated blood. Every six months from my 18th birthday until the ban was introduced.

I'm annoyed at the ban.

I know my status, and what risks I (don't) take.
Im married and committed, so not taking PrEP, so no concern with distorting the blood test screens.

But the NHS doesn't know these things, which is why it asks intrusive questions, of all donors.

Likewise, I dont know the ins and outs of blood screening techniques. They do.
And they say the balance of risk is too great, for three months.

Homophobia!

Says Ryan Doo-Dah and all the men in the linked article.

It's my right to help others.

Makes me feel second class.

I test more often.

I use condoms.
Jolly good. Well done. But it's not about you. Blood donation is for the patient. Not the donor.

There are thousands who were infected by contaminated blood products.

51% of new HIV infections are men who had sex with other men.

Don't be a Ryan.

Don't be a Cummings.
I don't have a right to put others health at risk.

I dont have a right to give blood, not even though I'd like to and it would probably be perfectly safe.

Yes, despite what I know, 'probably'. If OH is cheating on me, I don't know about it.

Three months it is.
