Whew...are we starting the convo on how school admin treats black hair??

I have a helluva story

...
It still lowkey hurts me to this day
If I had a YouTube channel that title would be along the lines of

STORYTIME: How Refusing To Conform to Eurocentric Beauty/Hair Standards Basically Got Me Expelled
Anywhoo yall gon get the short version

Couple weeks before graduation-

The principal approached me saying my hair was unkempt and dirty.
She suggested I "combed" my hair before coming to school the following day.
I was so stunned all I could do was just walk away after she finished talking
I was so sad and upset about the situation
But after ranting to a teacher and a couple friends about it I tried to shrug it off
Day before graduation-

The principal and vp publicly humiliated me about my hair.

The vp was touching my hair and looking at it in disgust.

Both of them were asking if I couldn't tuck it away or something and I told them

"no, this is how i choose to wear my hair"
After that humiliating interaction I walked away and bawled my eyes out because the level of disrespect
Members of staff said after I left the principal sent for my file and wrote a very lengthy report on it.
(On graduation day trust me I caught multiple side eyes )
So fast forward to 6th form list being published.
Guess who wasnt on that list?🙂
But one thing though, even though school admin destroyed my confidence, lowered my self esteem and made me hate my natural hair for a while... the whole situation really gave "No weapon formed against me shall prosper" a new meaning
