(1/4)Today I shed a few tears watching how much my girls truly love their Daddy. I can’t fathom the thought of having to tell them he didn’t make it home because someone feared his dark skin. It’s not an “us” and “them”, it needs to be a “we”! We must do better!
(2/4)We must have courageous conversations about our own biases and fears. We must step outside our comfort zones to learn about others different from ourselves. We must pay attention to how we say and treat others in and away from their presence.
(3/4) We must be advocates when we know others are not being treated fairly. We must hold ourselves and others accountable for their actions. We must remember if it’s not acceptable for our own, it is not acceptable for others.
(4/4) We do not want to have anymore conversations with our children reminding them they are treated differently simply because they are not white!
