Thread Time:

When I finally get my first job in the animation or illustration industry, I'm going to be setting up some serious boundaries.

When I get a job, please do not DM me in hopes that you can immediately get a job through or ask me to give you a personal tour.
And please do not ask me questions about the production of a specific show or movie that I would potentially work on.

And please do not send me unsolicited pitches of your long ideas for an animation without the prospect of down payments, compensations or other forms of payment.
I won't have the time or energy and will need to focus my energy towards what's really important.

This isn't specifically about commissions-- it's moreso about job security and about setting up boundaries about what kind of commissions I can or cannot take.
And if I do not respond-- please do not take it personally. It just means that I am really busy and have too much on my plate and do not have time to answer.

I had to learn some of these lessons the hard way when I was interacting with professionals.
Furthermore, if I politely say no; do not then use the opportunity to then violate this boundary and insist with questions like 'Are you sure?' or continue to message me with your killer idea that no one's heard of.

Please learn to take no for an answer.
Furthermore, please do not spam me with messages of your artwork or constant requests to get work at the same place where I work.

As someone who used to do this constantly before going to art school-- it gets on people's nerves easily.

I'm trying to redraw serious boundaries.
If you have any further questions-- please refer yourself to this thread.
