Get ready for a feel good story...
A few days ago a young man posted to the Biking Toronto Facebook page, asking for help learning to ride a bike, and for advice on where he can buy a cheap one...

A number of us reached out with some suggestions and resources and offers to help. I got communicating with him and it turns out he is only 18, a newcomer to Canada, working to help his family and without much money. There is more to say but that is his story to tell...

He also needed an extra small size bike, which despite several leads on reputable sources (incl @bikepirates and @BikeSauce) turned up fruitless as they just didn’t have that in stock. So I put out a post to the FB group and reached out to a few other channels...

The responses to my post asking if anyone had a bike or a lead to help this young man out included several people offering to chip in, to buy him a helmet etc. One person offered, in exchange for some help with a chore or two, to give him a *brand new* bike...

As well as a helmet and lock. Today that promise was fulfilled! Shawn Fitzpatrick of @OxygenBikes provided him with a brand new bike, in his size and a helmet with lock! @biketo #GoodNews
