San Francisco is now requiring face masks while running, which is not backed up by any science. I'm not going to comply with this order unless some evidence can be produced. Luckily, in San Francisco the only laws we enforce are the ones that prevent housing construction.
For the record, I was early to enter quarantine and have not been flippant about the risks. I stopped being in crowded places and shaking hands weeks before the lockdown started. But it was informed by what we knew. Now the evidence indicates outside activity is not a risk.
Meanwhile, I'm the only person on BART not touching anything, and part of only about 2/3 of people wearing a mask. The point is: minimize your risk in enclosed spaces; wear a mask indoors and on transit; but enjoy the outdoors.
