To my hermanos y hermanas: we have to realize that we have different fears than our ally, the black community. Both communities should be uplifting each other rather than comparing who has it worse bc where does that lead you to? Call out the racism in the Latinx community!!

For the white-passing Hispanics: USE that PRIVILEGE to help your community AND the black community. We should both be united and not divided. I blame the racism and ignorance due to lack of knowledge from our elders and parents, but that’s why we have to be the CHANGE and—

educate ourselves. Now, I also don’t want to isolate the Hispanics that do get stopped randomly by cops bc racial profiling is just so fucked up, BUT we aren’t as profiled as much as the black community. ACKNOWLEDGE THAT. I’m not saying ignore the fact that our community does—

There is no need to compare each community’s hardships. ACKNOWLEDGE them and HELP. No one is better than one another. Show just as much outrage to police murders and brutality towards black people just like you would if it happened to our Latinx community!!!!

To end this thread. Notice how I don’t say “our brown folks” because although I am Hispanic, I am still white-passing to a certain extent. My skin is white, my legs are pale as paper. Now, I’ve never been mistaken for a white person; white people always try to talk to me in—

Spanish. Yet, I still acknowledge that I am white-passing and not brown. I’ll use whatever amount of privilege I have when the time is needed because I know I don’t have the same fears or worries as others. I was educated by my bestfriend regarding this topic growing up—
