my mom's Old Greek Lady Book Club is doing 4 of the Canterbury Tales so I'm sitting in to provide some extra context and it's HILARIOUS to listen to their hot takes on this 14th century poem

they are DELIGHTED by all the fart and ass jokes in the Miller's Tale

this one old woman thinks there's "too much about women and not about what the men want in this book" omfg

this old anti-feminist greek orthodox lady just comes out and says the the Prioress' deeply anti-semitic tale is "my favorite one"

so much of the irony is going STRAIGHT over their heads
