To the Egyptians saying that hate crimes against black people aren’t affecting us & that we should speak up about our “own issues” instead. Away from the fact that you completely excluded black egyptians. Let me remind you that a black man was killed in Egypt 2 years ago

Just for his skin color. The majority of Egyptians are in fact racist and it’s obvious in everyday chit chats, movies, comedy tb shows. It is also always always brushed off because it’s very normalized here

This is our own issue sir. If I see injustice anywhere I am going to speak up I am going to call everyone on their bullshit. Racism is our issue, police brutality is our issue. You being angry over Egyptians speaking up on discrimination against black people in the west is a+

part of a much bigger, deep rooted problem here. What about black egyptians living in the west! They are also going to be unsafe, they are going to be hated for their skin color, they could be killed any second. Egyptian or not black lives matter.

You have a platform, you should speak up!!! Speak the fuck up. You are benefiting from black culture everyday; when it comes to music, art, cinema but when it comes to speaking up about racism and discrimination against black you wanna be silent or get pissed off for others+

Wanna speak about our “own issues” have you taken public transportation in Cairo? Have you seen the way Egyptians deal with Sudanese people living here? Have you seen the way they are being treated or looked at! Racism lives amongst us.
