RPers Who Don’t Credit the Artist - A Thread

Lowkey RPers who don’t credit artists are annoying af. Like, if you have art of a character ur RPing and you’re posting it with a witty caption, at least post a comment for the original art if you don’t want in the caption.

Like holy shit how hard is it to reverse image search to find the artist who drew the art you post on your RP account like— I RP on Twitter and the thing about me is because I’m an artist myself I draw all the images I post to my RP account, but if I’m gonna collab or see art—

—that I relatively like, Imma post the original artist because even if I have never gotten art taken from me, it’s not right. Like it’s not stealing but the fact that there isn’t a link to the OG artist is kinda suspect ngl.

You could argue that people can reverse image search it themselves but like why should your commenters have to do the work for you?

Anyway Ig this was kind of a mini-rant, maybe a hot take, but what are your thoughts are RP accounts on Twitter? Just to clarify I don’t mean crediting artwork from like the manga or anime or smth if you post that.

Due to the nature of RPing a character from a manga, anime, or video game, you can use that all you want as long as you say you’re an RP account and your character comes from “insert anime/manga/game here” and maybe even say the author’s name in your Twitter description.

What I’m saying in this thread is more along the lines of fanart of a character. If you use fanart of a character you didn’t draw in your RP account, even if you’re relatively small, it’s just nice to credit the artist. Idk maybe I sound too pretentious but thats just how I feel
