There are whispers in Columbus, MS that @MississippiAGO is dropping the charges against Boykin for shooting and killing Ricky Ball. If this is untrue, @LynnFitch should quickly quell the understandable hurt and anxiety this is causing Ricky’s family and loved ones.

A grand jury of Mississippians was empaneled to solemnly decide whether this should be tried in a public court. They decided it should. 4 years later, @LynnFitch replaced the prosecutors on the case & decided to drop the prosecution. The Ball family is understandably devastated.

I will never forget sitting in my cubicle and receiving a call from a Columbus organizer and friend of the Ball family to tell me, “They did it. They indicted him.” I asked him to repeat himself twice. I couldn’t believe it. @LynnFitch should be ashamed!
As evidenced from my first tweet, I actually believed this had to be nothing more than a rumor. I actually believed that, surely, no AG would choose to reverse course, post-indictment, on the prosecution of a white LEO killing of Black man at this particular moment. I was foolish
