QUICK THREAD

When this all started, we were quick to point out alarming numbers re: #COVID19Colorado

Today, there has been a remarkable turnaround in a number of metrics... We owe it to report that just as vigorously.

Will talk about them individually.

First...

Hospital data (I talked about this earlier)

Blue line = COVID+ patients
It's at 335 (lowest since late March)

Blue bars at bottom = New admittance numbers
Two days ago there were SEVEN in the ENTIRE STATE

All of this is good news
Second:

TESTING...

Latest report in within the hour shows more than 7K tests for first time ever.

The graph below shows this on far right.
Third:

POSITIVITY DATA: (noted in the red line below)

Last report shows a 4.09% positivity rate. That's a big deal.

(Look how long we have been below 10% -- my lame artwork will show you where that line is)
Fourth:

Surveillance...

In Front Range counties, ED visits for COVID-19 related symptoms DOWN across the board.

In Larimer County, it's now less than 1% of all ED visits, for example.
What does it all say?

Colorado has clearly turned a corner. All metrics I'm paying close attention to are down... In some instances, WAY down.

Does it mean this is over? Of course not.

How do we know? Look at serology (antibody) tests...

Close to 7% positive.
This is NOT a random sample... (antibody tests)

These are generally people who wanted to get tested because they had been sick in the past...

When they did get tested, only 7% tested +

Basically, any idea that this virus has spread massively is WRONG
State believes less than 3% have been infected in state.

97% of us have not.

Any idea of "herd immunity" is a very long way off.
Does it mean the virus WILL come back?

No.

But it means it certainly can.

For now, however, the news is good. As good as it has been in quite some time.

Stay safe everyone. There is still a long way to go.
