Police Officers Federation of Minneapolis:
"Now is not the time rush to (judgment) & immediately condemn our officers...Officers' actions and training protocol will be carefully examined after the officers have provided their statements."
They protect the WORST among them.

When the lines between criminality and policing are completely blurred, stop saying you can "reform" "patterns and practices." You can't.
The police patterns are....
Killing innocent people who have not been charged.
Executing the death penalty in the streets & NOT the courts.
Concealing crimes w vague statements like:
“Man dies after medical incident during police interaction.”(Minneapolis)
& often...perjury.

If the people "reforming" policing do not acknowledge the racism that is used to justify these practice, then the killing of POC will continue. And here is the scale of that atrocity: https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/series/counted-us-police-killings
For those who study and fight against the death penalty, there must be a shift in focus:
Not all death penalty cases are won in the courts.
The police do not wait until conviction...or even, charging...they are skipping the courts entirely.

Death penalty abolitionists are some of the most amazing reformers so police violence should be a centerpiece of their work.
It is the very thing that undermines the system and in terms of scale, it is a death penalty "machine."

This system isn't broken. It is working exactly how it was intended and it can be different.
Just head to a wealthy white suburb and see how the police are trained to interact with the community. That is the standard. Everyone should have THAT style of policing. EVERYONE.
