Matty Healy is not homophobic, he has on multiple occasions says he believes gender and sexuality is subjective.

Any time he uses the f slur or queer he is quoting what someone has called him and putting it into his song (why? stay tuned) the f slur in the UK also means cigarette so some times when he uses it its referencing that. Look at the context people!

Matty is not racist, his songs are about three things sex, drugs, or serious topics, “robbers” “i love america” “love it if we made it” to name some good ones. He cares deeply about equality and uses the platforms he has to promote awareness on these topics

He promotes the injustice of our ecological crisis, school shootings, lgbt, and poc. He, a white man is using his privilege and platform to reach and educate people on serious topics

Matty is not islamophobic, he worded what he was tryna say very poorly. He’s apologized for it. Simple.

On a bigger note, anyone who is smart enough to look at the facts or simply is a proper fan and sees what matty does and stands for would understand his songs are so much more than the words and the appealing tunes

Matty has said on multiple occasions he tries to take serious matters and then put them into his songs so that people will hear it and start to talk and think about the injustice.
