The Freedom Lovers would like state AGs to create lists of users who interact with certain content and add more regulations to private businesses, you see...
Most of America doesn& #39;t care about Twitter. But I& #39;m sure they& #39;ll all see it on their cable news program of choice tonight because the president would very much like for us to argue about social media than the 100,000 Americans who died on his watch
All of these companies are allowed to be biased if they wanted to, so the fundamental argument that they are guilty of something even if they demonstrate clear bias is absurd. They are private companies, they can do what they like with their product
But the president — who leads a party full of folks that love to accuse college kids and millennials of being "snowflakes" — is so thin skinned that when Twitter offered him the mildest pushback possible he decided it was time to leverage the might of the presidency against them
Again, this is from the party that tells voters all the time that what they want is fewer regulations and smaller government
Almost everyone around the president knows how stupid or insane this executive order is, and most of his party knows it too. But they treat him like that kid from the Twilight Zone who can send people he doesn& #39;t like "to the cornfield"
So when the Big Wet Baby President says he wants to do something about Twitter because he& #39;s never been told "no" his entire life, a bunch of lawyers run around and put words on paper so Donnie can have his binky
And all of this is happening while we have a pandemic on our hand, while we have yet another flashpoint for the deficiencies in our justice system brewing in Minnesota, while we approach hurricane season and an election year
Anyway, I assume this thread will end up getting me added to Missouri& #39;s official Crazy Libs List, but all of this is an unjustifiable waste of time and energy just to make the World& #39;s Most Spoiled Dumb Dumb feel safe and happy
