IMPORTANT THREAD

I'll no longer be discussing politics on this platform. You have to know when to shut up and I get that. I'm no stranger to admitting when I'm wrong and the truth is, no one wants my opinion on George Floyd/Minneapolis. I'm not adding anything useful there. 1/5
What I've learned as I get older is knowing what people want from you and what they don't. More importantly, what I am qualified to speak about. Fitted sheets, racial injustice, gardening, Cubs history, mushroom adoration, etc. 2/5
It's not silencing yourself. I'd never do that. It's more about knowing when to speak and when to listen. When to produce an output and when to shut down and just take in information. Today, I had good conversations and some testy ones. I made certain people mad as well. 3/5
Since I idolize people like @reneknottsports and @Frank_Cusumano, I am going to follow their lead and create more of a focus for my Twitter account. If I draft a tweet and don't feel 110% invested in it, it will be deleted or discarded. I'm going to be better than yesterday. 4/5
I'll still have opinions but they will be focused on things I am knowledgeable of and ready to take on the consequences of those words. I will be more mindful of my audience and what they want from me. That's it.

Be safe, kind, and sane out there. I appreciate the time. 5/5
