One of the most beautifully written songs(and underrated) in the recent past is "Heer" from "Jab Tak Hai Jaan". And something that absolutely moves me everytime is "Hadh rakh lena vich dil rakhna" . It translates to "Demarcate a boundary for my heart and keep it there".

Following the same thread, in 'Enna Sona' from 'Ok Jaanu' (another Gulzar+ Rahman combo), he writes another beautiful line. "Taap lage na तत्ती chandni da, saari raat main os chidkawan". Which translates to "To save you from the heat of the moon, I'll shower you with dew."

The point I'm making is that when Gulzar writes in Punjabi, he trumps everything. Sadly it's also where we kinda don't appreciate him enough.
