lets adress how some of yall fell into performative activism & how dangerous n counterproductive that is. it's during times like this that you have to be even more careful of what you say/your attitude. dragging everyone that doesn't constently actively post abt the matter_
_ and make their lifes revolve around it isnt going to serve the cause more eefficiently. please use your common sense. people can still go on with their life’s and tweet something else w/o invalidating the fight and refraining it from trending.
Tweets like
'reply to this with #BlackLivesMatter #ACAB when you see this / or you're blocked'
are not useful for the fight and it stresses out people for no reason. stop forcing people to blindly spam tweet the #s or shame them for not flooding their tl 24/7 abt the matter.
even people that are concerned sometimes need not to engage w/ all of this for some times in order to keep their sanity. We're talking abt a very serious and triggering matter and not just a mf trend to maintain on top of the twt tendance at all time. That is not activism.
Activism is speaking out abt the subject, relaying informations abt how to help those affected, spread the voices of those who speak out. And this applies to non-blacks as well as blacks. Bc ur behavior could lead those pressured to avoid the subject or feel as if it is a burden_
_to talk abt it rather than feeling genuinely interested/emphatic towards the situation and helping the best way they can.
