i find it absolutely baffling that so many white people on this app, and in my community, have taken “please don’t retweet videos of the actual violence taking place” as “i should stay totally silent on this matter because i’m white”

do you not see the complacency and privilege you project when you refuse to acknowledge the hardships black friends, neighbors, & strangers are facing? is the only way you perform activism by sharing videos of murder and violence? is that activism to you and not a performance?
