1/ Maybe I’m a little slow but that social media thing about Spanky was confusing me.
I got it now so, here goes.
Section 230 of the CDA allows Twitter etc to act as a platform for people to express their opinions without the company being held liable. Hence, you can suggest
2/ someone murdered someone else and because the company can’t check every tweet they will not be sued.
Under FCC, newspapers, TV news, can’t make these claims without evidence, they will be sued.
So, Spanky threatens to take section 230 away from Twitter so, they can be sued
Then if those lose section 230, they will dump Spanky because he lies all the time and is a threat to their bottom line because they would be open to being sued because of what he said.
Spanky won’t cut off his own air supply.
