the issue with the blackout is that it was made to combat a censorship that is not present on Twitter. we as black people are tired and by singling out our voices it feels as though we're being forced to talk about things which are emotionally and psychologically exhausting -
it is not solely the job of black people to talk about the injustices acted against us, we need the support and voices of allies together with us but not over us and it feels like a strange overcompensation that y'all aren't understanding
can I also add that I mean allies who will speak out against injustice past the first 48hrs that another black life has been taken. allies that challenge microaggressions before it gets to another #SayTheirNames or #BlackLivesMatter hype train -
our lives are worth more than internet clout and engagements
