Time to finally introduce myself, I guess! I'm Lisa, normally on here as @BeadSpiller. I've hosted here before, so hi again. I'm the one who started this account and schedules all the hosts.
I'm Métis from Prince Albert, SK, family from the Tourond's Coulee/Batoche area, and from the Red River Settlement before that. I'm in Calgary now. I'm nonbinary, and I have a wife and a 2 year old.
I make and sell baby clothes, and more recently some stuff for adults, at http://evercute.ca . You can follow on here @evrcute
I actually haven't done much beading lately! The last thing I finished is this cuff. It's inspired by a place in Saskatchewan where my family used to pick hazelnuts and Saskatoons, where I pick them still if I'm there at the right time, located at [redacted].
I'm working on the second cuff of this pair. I want to make it into a whole set, with a belt buckle and bolo tie. I'll make the bolo tie over the next week so I have something new to show you.
Here's a belt buckle I made earlier this year https://twitter.com/BeadSpiller/status/1219652566880903169?s=19
Here's a recent non-bead project - a fishing game for my kid. I do woodworking, though not much anymore. https://twitter.com/BeadSpiller/status/1260560872067350529?s=19
Here's another wood thing I did recently https://twitter.com/BeadSpiller/status/1265083066298466304?s=19
So, I haven't been beading lately, because I've been doing sewing and woodworking. These are some neckerchiefs (sold out, but soon to be restocked!) that I still on my website, with a Metis sash inspired pattern, and with a beadwork print. https://twitter.com/evrcute/status/1261284285526335488?s=19
And I've been making masks, of course. I'm not selling them, just making them for my family. This one is too big for me, it was hard to get a good picture.
For a while I was doing them with fun prints, but now I'm not bothering with that. I just want to make sure we have enough clean ones when we go out.
I also made some pants kinda recently, with the same sash-inspired pattern as the neckerchiefs up there ☝🏼. https://twitter.com/BeadSpiller/status/1250823276034535424?s=19
Another thing I'm doing recently is a shirt print made with a scan of the beaded cuff from earlier in this thread. I'll be selling these pretty soon @evrcute.
So sorry to dump all this non-bead stuff on here, I hope you don't mind. A weird thing about having multiple creative outlets is I always feel like I'm slacking off, even if I'm constantly making stuff. If I'm making a wood thing, I feel bad that I don't have time to bead.
My attention span is... not the best. I get very easily distracted by new ideas. I've had that second cuff going for months. I've started and finished (and not finished) multiple new projects in the meantime, but then feel guilty about all the half-finished things.
