Hey #indiedev's, maybe this helps. Here is a marketing tutorial on how to target a #YouTuber channel (or #YouTube video) with your video ad (you know, when you watch YouTube& ads start, how that ad can be yours). RTs much ❤️❤️❤️ if you feel this is useful #gamedev knowledge 🌻
1. YouTube is owned by Google so you advertise on it using Google's service called AdWords https://ads.google.com/  Its free if you don't use it so don't worry about adding your payment data. Actually you can get a ton of stuff free, like keywords search (a thread 4 another time).
2. Once done, Google will push you directly into a campaign creation wizard which looks smth like this 👇If you're a #gamedev not a marketing/ seo person, this may scare you. If you hover over those things, you see what Ads you can run for each. You will want to run VIDEO.
3. Whatever you choose, you'll get to have several options. This is Brand Awareness and I can do a Video campaign right there, see? Click that.
4. Now it is time to decide what kind of video ad you wish. In-stream runs before, during or after other videos. You can let people skip. Bumper is a super condensed 6s non skippable video ad, cause most ppl dont watch more than 5s anyhow. Outstream shows outside YouTube so pass
5. I chose in stream skippable cause I am not evil :P Anyhow, now it is time to give your campaign a name and Budget which can be lifetime or daily. And what this budget is spent on. Vid has CPM Cost Per 1000 impressions, so u pay for every thousand times that your ad is shown.
6. This feels like the scary part& its also a step where you can define your lang, demographics and such, but I usually don't do this here, I do it in campaign. When it comes to budget tho, you can start SIMPLY with 5 bucks a day. Just to test. And set a low Target CPM<0.5 cents
7. Lets do some math. With a 5 bucks daily budget and a 5 cent per 1000 shows of your ad, Google will show your ad (500/5x100)=10000 times that day. Is this clear? The trick is to decide WHERE exactly do these 10000 slots are shown.

8. Disclaimer, your video should already be on YouTube& I'm assuming you know the exact YouTube channel or video you target.
Notice how you can add a CALL TO ACTION (CREATE)& a headline (Steam wishlist). You can also do more- like adding a different custom image for the preview
9. Confirm your budget and GO. Now you are in the heart of things. This is your ad campaign. Notice the left bar with AdGroups, and Videos, and Keywords and PLACEMENTS. We are going to do a Placement. You can also add more to it but for this thread, we are doing a Placement.
10. This is how an empty Placement list looks like. Click on Edit.
