Today is MENSTRUAL HYGIENE DAY and I want to take a moment to share with you.

I’m not telling you to respect my menstruation or the pains I have to go through when the blood is flowing. I want to tell you that I didn’t have access to sanitary pads until year 3 in University.
I learned how to role the clothes and pack it down there from my sister. I learned to wash and re-use those clothes until they are bad. It was my shame and a shame I couldn’t run from.

No, that is not hygienic and that is the case of many young girls in Nigeria.
These girls didn’t ask for the menstruation but as they grow, this situation starts. You may walk away now because you are a man. You may walk pass because this is none of your business. But for the sake of humanity, I beg you to not walk pass this post.
Some girls in an orphanage needs your help! The Clapai Orphanage run by Kyempiya Nyamba and her husband are in need of pads. They are an amazing family who have dedicated their lives to taking care of these boys and girls. #PadAGirlWithDrAddy
They sent a picture of their current pads and what they cut their clothes from to me and I am sharing it in the next photo. Does that look like a pad? No, it doesn’t.

Those girls too have potentials and I want you to help me add more to what I have donated today. #PadAGirl
For one girl, we need 450 Naira to pad her. I have their account number. Please reach out to me if you are so willing to help pad our girls

We can’t stay silent and let them go through what I went through. They deserve decency and cleanliness. Please join me and let’s. #PadAGirl
