As a black man living in Chicago, I HAVE to put this on the timeline:

The fact that I talk to my friends and say, "I don't think this will be solved in our lifetime." shows how deeply rooted the assault on black people is into the fabric of this country.

These are not random acts of hatred. These are taught, encouraged, and protection acts. People say, "Wow. It is 2020 and it is still happening." Yes, and it has been happening for CENTURIES. Longer than anyone reading this has been alive. There will not be an overnight fix.
But there will always be a fight towards justice. People ask, "How do I help when I am not black?" You don't have to be. All you have to do is be a human who believes black people should not be murdered by the very symbol of the law in our country. A better speaker said it best.
