why do you guys always characterize people as just "wanting paper mario to be thousand-year door". that& #39;s such a misreading of the situation. i like all of the first 3 paper mario games. it& #39;s not just glorification of one game that they could never live up to
like every time anyone says "nintendo is making choices in these games i don& #39;t like" people immediately say you& #39;re being a killjoy and you& #39;re just never going to be satisfied. but it& #39;s so weird to me because there& #39;s an obvious and visible change in design philosophy after spm?
it& #39;s not a personal attack on anyone to be upset about one of the biggest video game companies in the world& #39;s game design choices. you& #39;re doing that thing where you say people are being upset because they won& #39;t be satisfied with anything. you want a comparison? sure, ill make one
the pokemon backlash was bullshit. even if there might have been some truthful frustrations in it/people have problems with the games, the way it manifests was unacceptable. ruthlessness for ruthlessness. attacks on people. groupthink nonsense over every "mistake" they could find
with that sort of situation treating people as being unpleasable vicious mobs is totally understandable. we& #39;ve seen what people being horrible and mean even to people from big companies is like. this is just so totally a different angle that it& #39;s not even comparable
Why do you feel so desperately angry when people don& #39;t like the game because of aesthetic and storyline choices that the company has said before they& #39;re doing on purpose? I get being annoyed that people feel like they& #39;re telling you you "have to hate it" - esp if thy seek you out
But I take real offense to the idea that everyone who isn& #39;t a fan of this situation is a whiny fucking baby who just wants to play the same game over and over. I& #39;m really tired of it! I& #39;ve already discussed the objective differences in the modern design philosophy that bother me-
