1.)

Kaepernick kneeled during the national anthem for the first time on September 1st, 2016.
2.)

Since then he and the entire movement of peacefully protesting police brutality and the fact that there is not true equality has been mocked and belittled by millions of Americans who claim “it’s unnecessary” or “that’s just not the right way to go about it”
3.)

Yet, all Colin Kaepernick did was shine a light on a glaring problem in American society. All minorities, especially black Americans are still not given the same safety or opportunities that white people in America receive.
4.)

As soon as segregation “ended” the rich whites in power went out of their way to still force black Americans into specific neighborhoods to receive lower property values and thusly worse educations. Nobody has ever done anything to make up for this on a legal level.
5.)

Beyond that, the police force has specifically been used to target and belittle minorities at every turn consistently violating their rights as American citizens.
6.)

(I.e. Checking for ID without knowledge of a crime being committed, scanning license plates to pull cars over without traffic infringements, murdering innocent people for “not complying and a plethora of other atrocities.)
7.)

These problems and the abuse of police power are nothing new. Yet, 4 years ago half of America said kneeling during the national anthem was “wrong”, and since then thousands of black Americans have been murdered by the police.
8.)

So you tell me, who’s in the wrong here. You know the answer, act on it and help the people directly affected by the corrupt system in anyway you can. And as always, fuck 12.

Side note: Kaepernick is still blackballed from the NFL for protesting deaths just like #GeorgeFloyd
