I keep thinking about how I should be covering the news right now in my comics but I got fired for calling out the racism I experienced by my editors when I was hired to write about my blackness

Don’t y’all love those hoops we gotta jump through !

Imagine getting hired to write personal comics as a black woman on a black woman ran site then pitching a comic about the murder of Atatiana Jefferson and how it relates to you as a black woman and being told it’s not positive enough for their brand by your white editor

Then telling them that’s offensive and you are an award winning cartoonist who is known for her platform on discussing police brutality and that’s why you were hired and have your editor go “my bad” essentially but ghost you out of getting any work published for nearly 3 months

Then after you are iced out for months after trying to reach them several times you call out the racism you experienced on twitter but because you told the world about the racism you experienced when trying to write a comic about racism that you were hired for...YOU GET FIRED
