The thought of who got the best voice in the Melodic Death Metal scene been on my mind ever since i started listening to this genre 18 years ago. It took years to finally realize or decide who in my opinion has the best voice. Gotta go with Anders Fridén of @InFlames_SWE
The 2 main reasons why @InFlames_SWE is one of my favorite bands (1) is their lyrics and melodies (2) is Anders voice.
From the powerful growls to the refined clean vocals, his voice never fails to convey emotions. Listening to him sing is indeed a cathartic experience.

There are many great performances showcasing his vocal abilities.Not an easy choice to make but i’ll stick with these for now.

Now this was tough to choose which song i should include here as their performance at Hammersmith 2004 is, if not the best @InFlames_SWE gig.

Again another track from the Hammersmith show. This is System, one of my favorites due to its fast paced rhythm and intense screams. My favorite part is the verse at the end.

Now with more subtle, clean vocals track. Can’t get over the sense of nostalgic yearning. This song is one of my favorites for sure

This is also one of my favorite tracks because of the way he alternate between low growls and relatively higher clean vocals. Everything about the song is great, the clip and the riffs.

This track is the opposite of the previous. Here, he switches between low clean vocals to relatively higher pitch growls. His performance in this song is emotionally charged. Not only it is heard and felt,it is also visible physically.

A whole track with clean vocals. The music and the way he convey each emotion with each word uttered is touching.

One of the most recent tracks which was released in 2019. I just love this one. The variation of vocals he employs in this song made the track sound heavy yet catchy. Anders still got it in him even at 47 years of age.

There are many many great vocalists in the Melodic Death Metal scene but for me Anders wins. I just love his voice so much. From the low growls and powerful screams, to the pure, clean vocals and emotionally charged performance, Anders has one of the best voices in metal
