A short thread re influencing. Sounding off on Twitter or in the media under the guise of ‘speaking truth to power’ does not make change happen on its own. If you truly want something to be different you need to make the case; constructively, patiently - and yes forcefully too.

You need to build allies. Don’t back decision makers into a corner, give them a way out. This process can be boring, frustrating and time consuming. You have to compromise or accept progress that is slower than necessary. That’s it. At the end of day, progress is progress.

Never stop being a campaigner and a fighter: head and heart.
