My opinions on the similarities and or differences between what's happening in US versus Jamaica.
In Jamaica unless you've experienced colorism. You cannot speak on it. You cannot say something does not happen. Because it has never happened to you.
In Jamaica, you get treated differently based on:

1. Your complexion.
2. Your last name.
3. Where you live.
4. The money you make.
Sometimes, it doesn't even matter how much you make, if your complexion is too dark it won't be well recieved if you move to live at an area predominantly occupied by individuals of lighter complexion.

As in the case with Usain Bolt.
More often than not individuals have to lie on resumes to land at a job because companies etc are reluctant to hire persons from certain areas.
If you have certain surnames in Jamaica you get away with almost anything.
Blood Money, a hit by Jamaica Reggae Artiste, Protoje, hints lucidly at most if not everything in this thread.

Let me quote a few lines.
"Nuff individual society applauding
You can ask anybody where them get them start in
But nuff politician take the donation
So nuff criminal will never see a station"
"Because that sad reality
Inna Jamaica, say your status is your salary
Man deh road a carry one whole heap a felony
But them have a family a boost up the economy
So..."
If you're of light complexion and you live in certain places in Jamaica you will probably not experience classism and colorism.

A dark skinned individual in Jamaica is easily percieved as being of very low social status and consequentially to be watched.
Opportunities are more limited for a dark skinned individual even if he has better qualifications than a person who's complexion is lighter.
Now, as it regards to the situation in the US. It is very absurd and ludicrous to suggest that roiting and protesting shouldn't be done as it wont solve anything.

Trayvon Martin passed about a decade ago. Nothing has changed, AND it has been happening long before that.
Someone said these are the ones that have been captured on film. Hence imagine the numerous. Hundreds maybe even thousands of innocent black lives that have be extinguished by racist in America, Canada and the United Kingdom.
How can you say rioting won't solve anything when nothing else have worked. General François-Dominique Toussaint Louverture proved that if words dont work? Action will.

Black people have become too distracted by all the unessecally bullshit in today's society.
Whether it's what the Kardashians have been up to, Football, etc etc.
We laugh and rap and pretend things arent ok.

Imagine children being WWE slammed on the floor for being nothing but innocent and nothing is done?

Imagine all the cases we dont know about.
Sad part is in a week maybe a month. All this will be forgotten and black men and women will return to the gender wars.

Black women mocking black men about the dick sizes and black me walking out on the kids.
I say riot. Tear the entire system down. Show them we're serious. Show them we mean business.

8 years they waited until Obama came outta office so they could resumed and make up for lost time.
Until black people stand as one we will be murdered in cold blood.
Emmett Till. Trayvon Martin. George Floyd. How many more until we take a stand?

This is the reason why I personally do not look up to black celebrities and musicians. All yall do is stay up in em big comfy homes, make a tweet and enjoy life to its fullest.
I am calling out everyone of them. Yes even my favorite artiste. They are able to make a difference but they aren't.

Then again we know they are all puppets for the white man, but that's a story for another day.

Riot. Do whatever is necessary until they treat us as equals.
