Im no scientist, i only have some college education. But I'm good at sourcing info.

my vague understanding about hydroxychloroquin is that it's not necessarily an anti-malaria drug but used to treat Cytokine storm, the process in which the immune system attacks the body.
The reasoning behind the adopting of this drug was due to the hypothesis at the time that the virus was causing this cytokine storm due to it being a new novel virus from pangolins.

But the news about the virus's symptoms, virulence, symptoms, & incubation didnt add up.
If the virus was causing cytokine storm, symptoms would have shown up way earlier.

If the virus causes cytokine storm, and it attacks receptors that are involved in blood pressure regulation, taking this drug would be like rolling out a red carpet.
If the virus was causing cytokine storm, then how come a sneeze or a cough produces an exponentially superior quantity of viruses in a cough?

If it was cytokine storm, why are some people dying weeks after recovering from the virus?

None of that adds up.
Everything points to the damage being done by the virus, not the body attacking itself. The fact the trial had a high heart attack rate convinces me now this was absolutely the case.
Malaria is not a virus, it is a rogue parasitic algae cell that contains a disabled chloroplast.

But nothing about hydroxychloroquin's affects on the cells directly tell me it's about treating that, it's about starving the parasite if its host is immune cells, or cytokine storm
All of this information was readily available 2 or 3 weeks into quarantine, by the time the president started touting it as a miracle cure I already knew he was full of shit by just simply doing a google search on the drugs effects & inferring on a few news articles I read.
I'm glad the stupid drug was deconfirmed. Dont get me wrong, it's a useful drug, but it's not gunna fix anyone with COVID-19.
I've been meaning to tweet this thread since it became an issue, but I didnt because I knew some M*GA dumbass would pick pieces of it an misconstrue it in their favor, convincing someone to kill themselves.

Now the trial is over, the drug ineffective, but at what cost, you know?
