Another show of how cowardly cops often truly are. Many guns pulled on an unarmed, on-the-ground young black man for an alleged non-violent minor traffic violation, proceeded by multiple officers physically assaulting his 90-year-old grandmother.

To clarify, bodycam footage from Midland PD does suggest the elderly woman was not pushed or assaulted or even touched by police when she fell only the young man.

This is in no way an exoneration of @MidlandTxPD's many other despicable & immoral actions.

#TyeAnders does proceed to act inappropriately and downright stupidly once in the back of the police car -- resisting arrest at this point is a valid charge.

Okay, watching more video, I'm more frustrated with #TyeAnders who is a complete fucking idiot.
Officer: "Stand up, walk toward us. No one's gonna shoot you."
Anders: stays on his knees, repeatedly moves his arms and then lies on the ground.

1/3 The most important thing here was that officers were quick to draw and aim their weapons. Everything that happened afterward could have been argued as policing doing a proper job. Spectators were interfering & confusing AV evidence,

2/3 grandmother appears to intentionally (without any touching or pushing or influence by police) fallz on her grandson (arguably with good reason, given police records of readily murdering unarmed young non-whites, especially blacks).

3/3 Even Tye Anders acted stupidly. But all of it is irrelevant, as these cops quickly, readily, and without hesitation pull & aim lethal weapons in a situation with ZERO indication that they (the officers) were at all at risk of injury.

additional followup: #TyeAnders acted VERY stupidly, in fact he acted like a fucking moron, screaming and moving idiotically, ostensibly without consideration of the context.
That said, his behavior still does NOT excuse officers' cowardly actions & reactions.
